Below .500 but still looking strong

The Beers look to bounce back from a case of the mid-season blues

The Beers got off to a good start to the season but then hit a wall. After starting the season off with a comfortable 5-1 record, the team dropped the next 7 games in a row. Nothing was going right: either the bats were working, or the defence made errors, or the pitching let us down.... Whatever happened, the Beers were in a funk.

Lately, however, with some great pitching performances and good hitting, the Beers have resurfaced and have climbed back into the middle of the pack by winning three straight contests. The Beers took down the Yanks, Angels and then the Cards in that order to get back to their winning ways. Mickey Fishman and Paul Robillard had two solid starts during that time and the bats have started to get HOT. Chad Hogg lit up the Yankees pitching for a four-bagger in an extra-inning affair at Sportsplexe, Jeremy Brisset had a breakout game at Lake going 3-for-4 with his first two doubles of the year. During this mini win streak, the Beers are also welcoming their newest addition, Andrew Yacob. He has pitched a little and played some SS/3B when we needed a guy there and he has done a pretty good job.

Seven games remain on the Beers schedule and the team hopes to continue playing well right into the playoffs. One more hot month of baseball before the second season begins. Let's keep on chugging, Beers!!!
